Asia’s leading Industrial Gases Expo to be staged in Bangkok

The IG series of industrial gases events staged in China are to establish their first international edition for the Southeast Asian market in Bangkok in May 2020 with the support of the Department of Industrial Promotion, Ministry of Industry.

IG Asia 2020 will be Southeast Asia’s first and only international exhibition and conference for technology, supply and services for industrial gases production, storage and distribution, a new event as part of the organiser’s extensive network of global industrial gases events.

IG Asia 2020 will be the region’s only dedicated event for the industrial gases’ community showcasing cutting-edge technology, supply and services for air-separation, production, storage and distribution. The exhibition and co-located business forum and conference will reach out to the various industrial manufacturing, medical and maintenance sectors in ASEAN.

Thailand has emerged as a key hub and critical growth area in Asia for major industries such as auto manufacturing, food and beverage processing, building materials, healthcare and electrical product production. Thailand’s manufacturing sector was valued at US$136 billion in 2018 with an expected incremental growth of US$50 billion in productivity gains by 2028 according to a recent National Innovation Agency (NIA) report. Within the wider ASEAN context, the market is valued at US$670 billion and we are seeing more and more global leading gas manufacturers entering Thailand, as one of Asia’s largest markets, to migrate and expand their production.

The inaugural IG Asia event will take place from 27-28 May 2020 at Makkasan Expo Halls, in Bangkok, Thailand, in partnership with AIT Events Beijing, an industrial gases specialist trade show organiser in China and Asian Exhibition Services Ltd. (AES), a Board of Investment listed company established as Thailand’s leading independent international trade show organiser.

Frank XU, CEO of AIT Events commented “Given the scale and potential of the industrial gases market in Asia, it seems only right that AIT Events has chosen Bangkok as its next location for the expansion of the IG portfolio. We have already experienced a huge appetite for the Thailand market as well as the wider Asian market with its neighbouring Pacific countries. We know that there is plenty of room for growth, so expectations surrounding this show are very positive.

IG Asia2020 is a great new addition to our portfolio and fits perfectly within our strategy to provide the very best industrial gases event, in key territories, all over the world.”

David Aitken, Managing Director of AES explained Bangkok is a strategic region hub to host IG Asia in order to attract the regional buyers to meet the leading manufacturers and suppliers that will gather from around the world to showcase their latest innovations and business solutions. These will range from ASU, compressors and cylinders to gas filling systems, storage and distribution, as well as the pumps, valves and testing instruments to Asia’s industrial gases specialists covering a wide range of sectors. These will include automotive, agricultural, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, and electronical household brands, all seeking inspiration on new ways to utilize industrial gases technology. It will also feature an international conference programme running alongside the exhibition, with major names from the industry discussing all of Asia’s IG production, storage and distribution challenges, trends and innovations.
